Job Title: Communications Specialist (40 hours/week)

Reports to: President & CEO, Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce

Location: Santa Fe, NM

Status: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Position Summary

The Communications Specialist is a full-time team member who supports the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce’s mission through strategic communication, marketing, and event coordination. This role combines writing, design, digital engagement, and logistical support to amplify the Chamber’s programs and brand—including dedicated support for Leadership Santa Fe, a signature leadership development program under the Chamber’s umbrella. This is a 40-hour per week position, with approximately 8 hours per week dedicated to communications and logistical support for Leadership Santa Fe.

 

Key Responsibilities

Content & Marketing

- Create and manage written content for newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials - Edit and maintain the Chamber website using WordPress - Manage social media platforms and content calendar - Assist with updating event flyers/postcards with logos, images, and event details - Maintain consistent branding across platforms

Event & Program Support

- Attend and support major Chamber events and ribbon cuttings - Input and manage data in the Chamber’s member and event database - Provide backup phone coverage and general office support - Assist with event logistics such as check-in, signage, and PowerPoint setup

Leadership Santa Fe Support

- Update and manage Leadership Santa Fe’s website and digital content - Produce the annual Leadership Santa Fe program directory - Maintain current and branded marketing materials for the program - Photograph LSF sessions and special events - Assist with event logistics such as signage, print packets, and check-in support

 

Qualifications

Required

- Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills - Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop - Experience with WordPress and social media platforms - Proficient in Microsoft Office suite - Strong customer service and communication skills - Valid New Mexico driver’s license - Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred

- Degree in communications, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience - Familiarity with Constant Contact, SurveyMonkey, and Canva - Basic understanding of HTML, databases, or Google Analytics
